A friend does something nice that you weren't expecting. You say: "What have I done to deserve this?"
Your friend says, "Nothing!"
Your human mind can't accept that. Maybe, it's all the good stuff you've done in the past that are coming home to roost. After all, if you give out good, you should expect good back, right?
Your human mind suggests another possible reason - it could be just a random act of kindness. That's alright then! You can accept a random act of kindness as long as your friend doesn't make a habit of it.
That's typical human mentality. You are loved for your actions or because you deserve it. Otherwise, there's something not quite right there.
I believe God, who is Love, doesn't do nice things because we deserve it or because of our actions, God does nice things as that is His nature.
God doesn't give rewards, God loves everyone regardless.
I have a friend who lives in our neighbourhood who I say hello to. I only know her name and where she lives. Whenever I see her, we exchange hugs and kisses. She always tells me that God loves me and that I am blessed and wishes me a blessed day.
When I saw her this morning, the first thing she said to me before she hugged and kissed me was "God bless you!"
What did I do to deserve such love?
I am loved because I am.
