As I was crossing the road, I could see a car approaching. Even though I had lots of time to walk across, I felt myself getting tense and I ran across. The moment I was on the other side, I relaxed.
I believe the tension I felt while crossing the was my survival instinct kicking in. The moment you sense danger, you either get into attack/fight mode or get ready to flee to protect yourself. I have been run over before and I'm not prepared to go down that road ever again.
There is another way to be where you are neither in fight nor flight mode - simply relax.
How can you relax when you are busy thinking about how to take care of your needs or your family's needs?
When you believe that you have infinite powers within you that can take care of you, you are naturally going to relax. And when you relax, you allow the powers in you to work on your behalf. It's rather like when you ask someone to do something and trust that they will. You are naturally going to relax because you know they are going to take care of it.
Just yesterday, while I was walking home, I started feeling like I was getting a migraine, I reminded myself of the powers within me and my Inner Voice told me to relax. I then relaxed and let the Powers in me work through me and I didn't have any headache. See: Assimilation
